Quality Assurance Supervisor

Principal Job Functions:

Develop and maintain an effective quality assurance system; work with company employees and managers to consistently conform to AS 9100 9002; and develop and maintain a system by which to prevent defects.

Evaluate customer requests to ensure the company's ability to produce the order to the desired quality level; Work with Purchasing to develop and maintain a qualified supply base; Develop and maintain a system by which to prevent defects; Perform contract review and develop quality contract planning on pending work orders to ensure the company's ability to produce product to the customer's requirement.

Responsible for gage acquisitions.

Requirements:

Must be able to work with all materials and inspection tools and equipment.

A Bachelor's degree in business or engineering is desired but not required. Experience as an inspector in a manufacturing environment is required, as is supervisory experience. A certificate in Quality Management is desirable. English is required.

Must possess good interpersonal; communication; critical thinking; organizational; statistical; and computer skills. Must be able to work with minimum supervision and be willing and able to be a team player.

Job Duties:
  • Ensure that the organization's quality assurance system is effective, efficient, and using the latest technology and processes;
  • Work closely with customers, suppliers, manufacturing, marketing, employees and managers to prevent, report on, and resolve quality issues;
  • Stay current with new technologies and philosophies;
  • Recommend the selection and justification of new capital expenditures;
  • Serve as the organization's representative in customer audits, as needed;
  • Work with and train employees in processes to prevent defects;
  • Manage any required corrective action;
  • Continuously improve the quality management processes, AS9100 and QMS within the company;
  • Manage the MRB process;
  • Perform contract review and create inspection data for all levels of inspection during production;
  • Purchase and maintain all inspection thread and pin gauges;
  • Perform all final and support first article inspections (as required);
  • Create rework/remake routers as determined by the MRB process, QMS-MR will provide back-up support;
  • Assist as interface with registrar, as needed;
  • Evaluate, hire, train supervise and conduct performance evaluations of inspectors. Develop and implement training plans;
  • Maintain quality records and provide management with information on quality issues and measures;
  • Develop and maintain contacts with professionals in the field and with related professional organizations;
  • Schedule and conduct atidits of potential supplier facilities to maintain an 'ipproved supplier base;
  • Maintain the use of SPC within the plant;
  • Serve on continuous improvement teams and as a Lead Auditor, both internally and externally;
  • Manage calibration requirements;
  • Work closely with customer; marketing; supplier and manufacturing to prevenUreport on and resolve quality related issues;
  • Maintain the calibration system and register;
  • Issue CAR and NR for all externallinternal rejections, to include the RMA;
  • Request, track and record customer supplied gauges/gauge information;
  • Report on quality performance of the OMS in Management Review meetings;
  • Assist in the response of any customer's audits and/or survey requests;
