Job Summary:

Join our dynamic team as a CNC Setup Level II (Lathe), where your mastery in setting up and operating CNC machinery will be pivotal in driving our manufacturing operations. As a vital contributor, you’ll spearhead the setup and operation of CNC lathes, meticulously select precision tools, interpret blueprints, and ensure strict adherence to quality standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to AS9100 quality assurance procedures, actively participating in MRBs, NCRs, and CAPAs for scrap analysis and root cause identification.
  • Collaborate closely with the Master Scheduler to execute machining tasks according to job traveler routing instructions and effectively interpret manufacturing drawings.
  • Proactively alert the lead to any process problems and ensure strict adherence to material specifications.
  • Perform deburring tasks and diligently monitor coolant and oil levels, promptly refilling as necessary to maintain optimal machine performance.
  • Utilize anti-foam agents to prevent coolant foaming and maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Take ownership of shift-end responsibilities, including straightening the work area and promptly notifying supervisors upon order completion.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to ongoing troubleshooting efforts during the manufacturing process.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Manufacturing and Master Scheduler to manage machine programs, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Set up production machinery with precision according to blueprint specifications and provide comprehensive guidance to operators.
  • Conduct bar feed setup and execute material changeovers with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure the correct operation of programs and meticulously verify in-process inspection dimensions, providing clear explanations to operators and alerting them to critical dimensions.
  • Keep tools, instruments, and work areas meticulously organized and clean to maintain an efficient and productive work environment.
  • Operate CNC machinery proficiently across various tasks, including turning, milling, multitasking, automation operations, and setup, including CNC Operation TURN T & TM OR MILL 3 & 4 Axis, CNC Operation TURN LT OR MILL 5 Axis, CNC Operation MULTI-TASK, CNC Setup TURN T & TM OR MILL 3 & 4 Axis, and CNC Setup TURN LT or MILL 5 Axis.
  • Perform thorough in-process inspections using a range of precision measuring instruments and equipment, ensuring accurate data entry into the company’s quality inspection database.
  • Additionally, proficiently set up and run Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) for repeat jobs, contributing to the overall quality control efforts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Proficient in English communication with strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
  • Skilled in AS9100 and GD&T, with expertise in using metrology inspection tools for precise measurements of CNC machined parts.
  • Well-versed in shop math, blueprint reading, CNC machine shop practices, and assembly/fabrication processes.
  • Experience in setting up Mori Seki, Okuma, DN Solutions, and/or Tsugami CNC Machines.
  • Familiarity with JobBoss2 and High QA systems, along with Keyence and Starrett comparator experience.
  • Additional experience in operating and troubleshooting CMMs is advantageous.
  • Exposure to Mori Seki and Okuma CNC Machines is a plus.
Education and Experience:
  • 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • NTMA certified machinist credential plus 2 years of machinist experience in a machine shop environment, or 5 years of machinist experience in a machine shop environment.
  • Completion of a technical or associate degree program is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must have good vision.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Must be eligible to work in the United States.
