Join our team as a CNC Setup Level II (Mill), where your expertise in setting up and operating CNC machinery will play a crucial role in our manufacturing operations. As a key player, you’ll be responsible for the setup and operation of CNC mills, precision tool selection, blueprint interpretation, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Adhere to AS9100 quality assurance standards, engaging in MRBs, NCRs, and CAPAs for scrap issues.
- Collaborate with the Master Scheduler to execute machining tasks per job traveler instructions.
- Interpret manufacturing drawings accurately and promptly notify the lead of any process issues.
- Verify material conformity, perform deburring tasks, and maintain coolant and oil levels.
- Utilize anti-foam to prevent coolant foaming and notify supervisors upon order completion.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
- Manage machine set-ups in collaboration with the Director of Manufacturing and Master Scheduler.
- Set up production machinery to blueprint specifications and assist operators with setup-related issues.
- Conduct in-process inspections, explain inspection dimensions to operators, and highlight critical dimensions.
- Perform automation operations and programming under supervision.
- Collaborate closely with QA Inspector to complete FAI measurements and obtain approval.
- Utilize a range of inspection tools effectively.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities within a team setting.
- Proficient in AS9100 and GD&T.
- Skilled in utilizing a wide range of metrology inspection tools for precise measurements of CNC machined parts.
- Experienced in shop math, blueprint reading, CNC machine setup and interpreting customer requirements and metals specifications.
- Experience setting up Mori Seki, Okuma and DN Solutions is preferred.
- Familiarity with JobBoss2 and High QA systems, with Keyence and Starrett comparator experience is preferred.
- CNC Machine experience with Mori Seki and/or Okuma is preferred.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Requires NTMA certified machinist credential + 2 years’ experience as a machinist in a machine shop environment OR 5 years’ experience as a machinist in a machine shop environment.
- Completion of a technical or associate degree program a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Must have good vision.
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
